Classes to Race
Canadian Shark Class Association rules are in effect.
Races will be sailed according to Essex County PHRF Rules except that there are no minimum crew limits.
Corrected times will be calculated using time-on-time handicapping
Corrected Time ∝ Elapsed Time ÷ (PHRF Handicap + 557s/mi.)
There will be a single JOG class.
The PHRF class will be divided into PHRF A, B & C. The RC will post a notice of splits before the first race.
Coloured pennants matching the class flag are to be flown from the backstay for JOG and PHRF classes.
In a JOG or PHRF class a boat must either:
- have been rated by the Essex County PHRF Association (ECPA) or
- have been issued a rating certificate by a North American PHRF station and have an equivalent rating on file at ECPA
Despite rule RRS 78.1, a current valid measurement or rating certificate is not required
Boats must carry liability insurance.
Registration & Facilities
The entry fee is $40 on or before Friday. On Saturday the late entry fee is $50 and no registrations will be taken after 1000.
Visiting boats may make use of the harbour, dry storage and facilities overnight Friday and Saturday for the cost of entry — the dry sail crane (attended and with proof of insurance) may be used to launch before the race on Saturday and haul-out after the race on Saturday or Sunday without additional charge. Use of the crane or for other purposes should be arranged with the RC or the harbourmaster firstname.lastname@example.org.
